St James Retirement Village- Heatley, Townsville

  • Work across our kitchen and café over 5 days a fortnight
  • Min. 25hrs a fortnight- shifts generally 9 am-3 pm
  • Must have commercial cooking experience as this is the main focus of the role
  • Availability to work one Saturday every fortnightly is required
  • $24+/hr + super + up to $15,900 in salary packaging + retail discounts
  • Annual leave + leave loading

About the role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Cook to provide a variety of nutritious food and café services to our much-loved residents of St James Retirement Village. This is a dual role with the main focus on cooking in the commercial kitchen then providing hospitality services in the café.

Your day to day tasks will include:

  • Food and drink handling, preparation and basic cooking;
  • Maintaining hygiene standards;
  • Undertaking basic record keeping;
  • Stock control.

About you

To be suited to this position, you will have:

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen;
  • Experience in food hygiene control and cleaning in a hygiene controlled environment;
  • Provide quality customer service and hospitality to all customers; operate cash register and point of sale system; take orders, make and deliver food and drinks to customers;
  • Willingness to work more hours to cover shifts and functions, including weekends on a rotational roster;
  • Possessor have the ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate;
  • Provide evidence of a current Influenza vaccination and COVID-19 vaccinations.
