The Lifestyle Therapist is responsible for determining and delivering therapist activities that enhance the psychological, spiritual, social and physical well-being of residents. This role will support residents with dementia.
You are a dynamic and motivated individual who thrives on innovation when it comes to enriching the lives of the elderly. Whether it be a concert at the facility or a day out on the bus, your main goals are to motivate, inspire and involve the residents. You have excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. You have a fun-loving nature along with compassion and understanding of individual needs.
In order to be successful in this role your knowledge, skills, qualifications should include:
Certificate IV in Leisure & Health or a min. Certificate Level III in any area of dementia, neurological disorder, intellectual impairment, music, arts, massage or other qualification related to diversional therapy;
Light Rigid Bus Licence (Class LR) or ability to acquire this licence within three months of commencement;
Possess, or have the ability to obtain, a current National Police Certificate;
Provide evidence of a current Influenza vaccination and COVID-19 vaccinations.
