We are looking for a full-time Church Safe Facilitator to continue to support our 65+ affiliated churches across Queensland to embed the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and create a culture that prioritises the safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Reporting to the Director, Church and Community Engagement and working closely with the Safeguarding Response Group and Governance team, you will assist churches to develop and deliver child-safe strategies, policies and procedures and also develop the capacity of church leaders in this space through ongoing training and education. You will be the key point of contact for helping churches navigate child safety concerns and reporting requirements, as well as the ongoing embedding of safe culture across all congregants and activities/programs/ministries.
The role is based at the Kenmore office, with a vehicle provided as part of salary packaging to support regular travel to develop capacity and deliver training to our churches across Queensland.
You are a self-starter with qualifications or experience in child safety/protection in either social work, psychology or a law enforcement context. You will understand and have experience in applying both the Child Safe Principles and legislative requirements and the unique context of locally governed and led churches. And you will have an unwavering commitment to the safety of children and vulnerable people.
Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
We actively encourage and invite applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for all our positions.
