About the role

Working with the Case Managers, you will be responsible for providing support to young people, generally between the ages of 15 - 25, leaving out of home care to develop the skills and confidence to live independently.

Each day will be varied, however, your key duties will be included:

  • ensuring individual case plans are in line with the young person's requirements;
  • assisting with applying for rental accommodation;
  • re-connecting to their culture and family;
  • assisting with job applications or planning study arrangements;
  • maintaining a safe and tidy home environment;
  • attending court;
  • mentoring to promote positive and safe behaviours and relationships.

About you

You are a positive role model for young people, always advocating for their needs, preparing them for the many challenges adulthood can bring. You have the ability to ensure their voice is heard, particularly when decisions are made that affect them.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:

  • Certificate IV in a relevant child welfare course or willingness to obtain;
  • Demonstrated experience working with adolescents and young adults in a child protection or community services context;
  • Proven ability to be a positive role model with young people, including engaging and building relationships;
  • Driver's licence;
  • Proof of Covid vaccinations.
