To make a positive difference in a young person's life experiencing out of home care, you will be:
- mentoring and acting as a role model for young people;
- helping build positive social skills and healthy relationships, utilise effective conflict management and negotiation;
- assisting with their physical and emotional well-being. This includes anything from helping them prepare their meals and clean up after themselves, to just being there for them when times get tough;
- maintaining strict documentation in accordance with legal requirements and service policy.
The core hours of work will include night and weekend work. You will also be required to attend staff meetings and compulsory training provided by the organisation.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:
- a minimum Certificate IV in a relevant child welfare course or enrolled and working towards completion;
- demonstrated experience and knowledge working in residential care; and/or working with young people in child protection or community service context;
- drivers Licence;
- possessor has the ability to obtain a National Police Check, Blue Card (working with children) and a Licensed Care Services (LCS);
- provide evidence of COVID vaccinations.
