About the QTU

Established in 1889, the QTU is the registered industrial organisation (or union) representing state school teachers and principals throughout Queensland. The Union is now the professional and industrial voice of more than 48,000 members including teachers, principals and TAFE educators in Queensland state primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, TAFE institutes and other educational facilities. 

About the Opportunity

The QTU is seeking an experienced Administration Officer to temporarily join our Membership team. The Membership team respond to member enquiries related to union dues. 

Your tasks will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for member enquires.
  • Processing member union due payments via direct debit, APost credit card and BPay banking files.
  • Creating and updating member details such as employment changes and leave in the CRM. 
  • Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies. 
  • Processing invoices, credit adjustments and refunds.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have: 

  • Experience in accounts receivable.
  • Experience in inbound query calls and outbound debt recovery calls.
  • High level of communication including the resilience and tact to have sensitive discussions with members under financial pressure.
  • Accurate data entry. 
  • Comfortable working in a call centre environment with the ability to multitask without losing focus on providing an excellent member experience.
