Recruitment Process

During the interviewing process, you will be contacted by one of our trade qualified and skilled Area Managers, who will discuss the company, details and expectations of the role, as well as answer any questions that you may have. After the initial phone interview, you may be asked to present to the site for a face-to-face meeting, and to meet the kitchen team, of which their daily operations are overseen by our trade qualified Chef Managers.

If you are successful in securing this role, you will be provided with detailed training to ensure a smooth transition into Catering Industries, and to ensure that we adhere to all food safety guidelines and hygiene practices, as well as ensuring the health and safety of our staff; our highest priority.

Remuneration & Career Growth

You will be paid the base rate, penalty loadings and applicable allowances under the Hospitality Industry General Award. Catering Industries strongly advocate and encourage developing individuals for more senior roles internally.

Promotion will depend on how quickly you can become proficient in your role, learn additional skills (such as cooking) and complete the relevant trade qualifications e.g. Cert III in Commercial Cookery. Those who complete a trade qualification together with experience would be eligible for promotion to a Chef/Second Chef'.
